Michael Koffman - Country Director

A Boston native, Mike graduated from Brandeis University in 1984. He then earned a commission as a U.S. Marine infantry officer, serving throughout the Pacific and Mediterranean. Mike then received his JD from Boston College Law School, where he co-founded Shelter Legal Services Foundation, a nonprofit legal services provider for residents of Boston's homeless shelters. He worked as an attorney at a large Boston law firm, and later served as an assistant district attorney in Lowell, Massachusetts. In addition to his prosecutorial trial work, he was instrumental in implementing the nation's first community-based justice juvenile diversion program. Mike served as a Volunteer in Vanuatu from 2003 to 2006, where he helped to develop rural training centers at the grassroots and national levels.
Mike became Country Director of Peace Corps Kiribati in January 2007 and served until the closing of the program in November 2008. He assumed his duties as Country Director in Ghana in December 2008.

Kristine Hoffer - Director, Programming and Training

Kris is an RPCV from Mali (94-97). She returned to join the Peace Corps Mali staff in 2006 as the APCD for Natural Resources Management. She later served as PTO. In February of 2010, Kris became the Regional Advisor for the Coastal West Africa and Central Africa sub-region. In this role, she provides professional development support to Peace Corps staff, and provides training on a variety of topics such as using VRT and VIDA, Designing for Behavior Change, and the TDE. She facilitates staff retreats, TOTs, staff training events, and project reviews. She is also developing a West Africa Food Security Program with support from USAID. She currently resides in Ghana. Prior to working for Peace Corps, Kris worked as a researcher and program manager. She has a specialization in designing behavior change programs for environmentally sustainable behaviors. She has also worked as a training program designer and trainer, having created training programs for professional staff and technicians for many organizations in the U.S. and Canada. She holds a Masters Degree in Cultural Anthropology with a specialization in Society and Technological Change, and a certificate in conflict resolution from Duquesne University. Her undergraduate degree is in Philosophy from the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Kris grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska and now has two children, now ages 8 and 10. She enjoys water color painting and yoga.

Joseph Boamah - Associate Director, Education

"Joe Bee" has been an English teacher trainer, pre/in-service resource person and an examiner.
He was a member of the 'Core Team' of the Strategic Planning Group for Teacher Education under the FCUBE Program in Ghana in 1996. He has an MA TESOL Degree from the Heriot - Watt University of Edinburgh in Scotland (1994), DASE in ELT from the University of Lancaster in UK (1990).

Mary Noorah - Associate Director, Education

Mary taught French and English at the Senior High School level for ten years and also translation at the Institute of Languages for two years before her current employment with the Peace Corps. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and English and a diploma in Education from University of Cape Coast and a masters degree in translation from the University of Valladolid, Spain.

John Addipa - Associate Director, Health/Water and Sanitation

John accepted an appointment as a Teaching Assistant with the Department of Geography and Resource Development in the University of Ghana and also worked as the Principal Research Coordinator for the West African cluster of the United Nations University project on People, Land Management and Environmental Change (UNU-PLEC). He was also the Greater Accra Regional Coordinator for a national survey on "Public Perception of Corruption in the Delivery of Education and Health Care in Ghana" funded by DANIDA. He also served as the Field Officer for the Ashanti and Brong-Ahafo Regions on the survey on "African Regional Initiative on Fiscal Decentralization" supported by the World Bank, DANIDA, and USAID. John joined the Peace Corps Ghana in April 1999. He is a product of the University of Ghana, Legon.

Nicholas Nyagle - Program Manager, Environment

"Nico" has been a community development worker with the ministry of Food and Agriculture for over 20 years. He doubled as the Upper East regional coordinator for the Sasakawa Global 2000 Project for 10 years. He has also served as the Environment sector technical coordinator for 6 years. He holds a diploma in Agricultural Extension and Farm management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree from the University of Cape Coast.

Tony Klah - Information Technology Manager

Tony is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) and Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) on the Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003 Platforms. He holds a BSc in Information and Communications Technology and an MSc in TeleCommunications Engineering. He is an Enterprise Systems and Network Architect and a solutions developer on Java, C++ and C#. Tony extends his tutelage expertise as an adjunct lecturer to the Center for IT Professional development (CIPD) at the Ghana Institute Of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

Richard Adzadu - Safety and Security Coordinator

Richard holds Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Education, Winneba. He was a language/cross culture facilitator, a certified language tester and later the Language Sector Coordinator Coordinator for the Peace Corps Training Program. Richard is experienced with training British and Japanese Volunteers in Language/Cross Cultural development. He is a teacher by profession and takes delight in community development.

Grace Sebugah - Training Manager

Grace is an adult educationist and a professional development worker. Prior to Peace Corps, she worked with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture as a District Development Officer and with World Vision in various capacities including Program Officer for Food Security & Micro Enterprise and Area Development Program Manager. She has a Masters of Philosophy degree in Agricultural Extension from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.

Adelaide Anthony - Executive Assistant

Adele worked with the Peace Corps in Gabon for 17 years in various capacities, including office manager, medical clerk, Volunteer records clerk/executive assistant and, alternate cashier. Prior to that she taught English and worked as a translator at various conferences in Libreville, Gabon. Adelaide attended Achimota and Holy Child Schools and read French and Spanish at the University of Ghana, Legon.
